Biography

Zach White played four years of CIAC Division II ice hockey for the Milford co-op team that included players from Foran High School, Jonathan Law High School and Platt Technical High School. A 2014 Foran H.S. graduate, White scored 203 points on 95 goals and 108 assists from 2011-2014. He was a three-time Connecticut High School Coaches Association All-State selection and a New Haven Register All-State choice as a senior. Zach scored 30 goals and had 33 assists to become the program’s all-time leading scorer in his junior year. He added 35 goals and 21 assists as a senior. During his freshman season White scored 10 goals and had 23 assists (for 33 points) before improving those totals to 20 and 33 as a sophomore. His No. 5 jersey was retired in 2015. White also played football (wide receiver) at Foran H.S. As a midfielder, he captained the Lions’ lacrosse team. The Connecticut High School Coaches Association Division II Most Valuable Player in 2014, Zach was presented with Foran’s Harry Chernovetz Memorial Award as outstanding Male Athlete in 2014. White attended Curry College (Milton, Ma.), finishing four years of playing ice hockey and lacrosse in 2019. In his final hockey season, he was named second team Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC). Zach, for the second consecutive season in the CCC, was a semifinalist for the Joe Concannon Award, which is presented annually to the best American-born college hockey player in New England at the Division-II/III level. He ranked in the top 10 in NCAA Division III in goals per game, power play goals and points per game. He led the conference with goals scored (23) and empty net goals (5), while ranking second in power play goals and hat tricks. White was Curry’s Male Athlete of the Year in 2019. Named to the CCC All-Academic team after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree, White signed out of college with the Fayetteville Marksmen before he inked a professional contract with the Hockey Club Cholet (France). He played junior hockey for the Brewster Bulldogs and the New York Applecore in the Eastern Hockey League. Zach then signed with the Iowa Heartlanders He was the first Heartlander to record 100 points. Returning to Iowa in 2023, he scored 20 goals and 20 assists in 71 games. He is currently playing pro hockey in North Carolina.
