Danni Kemp

Biography

Danni Kemp was a three-sport athlete at Foran High School, playing volleyball, basketball and softball. A 2015 graduate, Kemp led the Foran Lions to three consecutive Southern Connecticut Conference (SCC) softball championships and a pair of state final appearances. Twice named All-State catcher, she was SCC MVP her senior season. Kemp hit .446 as a junior en route to all-conference and first team All-State honors. Danni would have been a sophomore at Stony Brook University majoring in Health Sciences and playing Division I softball when she passed away from an inoperable brain tumor at the age of 19 in 2017. The Danielle Kemp Memorial Softball Award is presented each season to the most outstanding players in the CIAC state softball championships.
