Jim Leahy

Biography

Jim Leahy was a CIAC Class M All-State goalkeeper for Milford High in 1979. A three-year starter, Jim played in 54 consecutive games for coach Kurt Maurer. He was selected All-CCIAC (Cross County Conference) all three seasons. Leahy posted 22 career shutouts; 10 blank sheets during his senior campaign. He went on to Brandeis University (MA), where he started all four years and recorded 41 shutouts. With Leahy in goal, Brandeis advanced to Division III Final Fours in 1981 (third place) and 1984 (second place). Jim coached Tolland High to Class M titles in 2009 and 2015. He was inducted into the Connecticut Soccer Hall of Fame in 2022.
