Nick Newell

Biography

Nick Newell earned All-State honors in Class M wrestling at Jonathan Law as a senior in 2004. Born with congenital amputation of his left arm, Nick won 53 matches at 130 pounds his final season as a Lawman. He had 123 victories overall. Newell next wrestled at Western New England University, where he broke the school record for career wins. During his college years at WNE where he was a two-time captain, Newell also honed his mixed martial arts skills. After graduating in 2008 with a degree in communication and media studies, Newell joined the professional MMA ranks in 2009. He won the Xtreme Fighting Championship lightweight title in 2012.
