Dennis P. Russell Jr.

Biography

Dennis P. Russell Jr. earned All-State honors at Platt Tech as a catcher for coach John Bruno's Panthers. A 1982 graduate, Russell was a rare four-time All-Cross County Conference (CCIAC) selection. His career batting average was .378 and he had 100 hits over that span. Russell led the CCIAC in batting as a sophomore when Platt Tech advanced to the CIAC state semifinals. Russell played for the University of New Haven in 1986 when the Chargers went 31-5, won the New England Collegiate Conference title, and went to the Division II World Series.
